Where We Go, We Follow

Where We Go, We Follow
By Shaire Blythe

Greed has come to mean sleeping on wastelands--
clawing at diamonds to end up with rocks.
Swayed to abandon any promises--
only in dire times, we look to the cross.

Knowledge steadily seeming to expand--
toss quotes to get our sanity across.
Incidents prove what we don't understand--
we unseal the door to our own chaos.

Take the time to truly seek what's missing,
stop wandering alongside the lost crowd.
An end needs to be put to the drifting.

Once we reshape the lies that we've allowed,
our emotions will be more than fleeting.
We'll become serious about our vows.
